History of Coach

As one of America’s leading brand names in fashion and a producer of high-quality merchandise, Coach has a long-standing history of classic and traditional American style.  Back in 1941, Coach began as a family-run workshop in a Manhattan loft in New York making small leather goods from the very start.  The Coach company was soon managed by a New Yorker who was known as Miles Cahn and the Coach brand began to make sturdy cowhide handbags. These became the Coach company’s trademark and were known for their traditional yet elegant style.  As the years went by, Coach experienced multiple ownerships which ultimately expanded the product line for Coach in order to keep up with the high demand for Coach products across the nation.  The Coach brand also opened up its own stores in malls and entered department stores in several nations.  Having much success in the United States, Coach also expanded overseas and operated Coach stores in England and Japan.  Coach is now a national and international signature style and brand name with an expanded product line for both men and women.  Currently, Coach is known for its multi-colored as well as neutral toned logo handbags.  Quality and luxury are key for Coach as it is now accessible in its classic style to people accross the globe.
